There is no aspect of Christianity that causes more confusion and chaos in peoples’ minds than the whole subject of how to know God’s will for your life. People often seek counsel from their pastors for the decisions they make and the questions almost always gets to the God level, “…and pastor I just want to do God’s will; might you help me find it?” Or, they have already made a decision and are looking for divine blessing that what they are doing is in fact God’s will.
Bringing God into your life and decisions is something that every Christian should do. The Scriptures applaud this. However, people often come to conclusions and make decisions that are distressing. Have you ever looked at a situation and ask, "What were they thinking? Why would they do that?" Or maybe you look at your own life with the same questions.

God does guide His people, but the question is, “How does He guide?” Garry Friesen began pondering why it was so hard to find God’s will when he had so sincerely sought it. Was he the only one who did not have 100 percent clarity for every decision? Then a new possibility struck—perhaps his understanding of the nature of God’s will was biblically deficient. Maybe there was a better way to understand HOW God guides.
